Tickets1st part: Yvette Bozsik Company: Weddig
Yvette Bozsik created the piece "Lakodalom" (Wedding) in memory of her grandfather at the request of the Central European Dance Theatre in 1996. The performance is now being reimagined, with new costumes and sets, and with a revamped choreography, as part of the 30th anniversary celebrations of the Yvette Bozsik Company. The piece is a surreal family vision of a village wedding. It tells us about passion, love, jealousy and prejudice through the portrayal of two families. The choreography combines elements of traditional folk dance, in a grotesque way, with the gestures of modern dance, just as Félix Lajkó's music blends folk, jazz and modern music. With this performance, Yvette Bozsik pays tribute to her childhood and her beloved and wonderful grandfather, István Cseh. The lead role is played by the company's founding dancer Tamás Vati.

2nd part: PB2 Company: Trianon - a Hungarian Dance Elegy
We’re looking at the period full of dramatic events, when centuries turned in a matter of seconds, from the perspective of a multi-generational family. A moving story, a fictitious family drama told in the language of dance and poetry. What does the Trianon era mean to them? – the shared emotional experience of shock, crises, conflicts, sacrifices, fear and escape caused by separation. Not a dramatic event limited in time but a historical process with a decade of precedents and a century of repercussions, an elemental force that tore apart the unity and peace of families.

TicketsThe ensemble of the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble boasts some excellent Roma musicians who – as few remaining artists in Hungary – can still interpret the rich traditions of urban Gipsy music now in the 21st century. The venue of the dance event is a symbolic space: concert halls, restaurants, bars and village pubs, etc. Besides traditional folk music, the musical texture of the performance gives room to the traditional urban Gispy music, the Hungarian nóta (composed folk-like songs), the Csárdás, jazz and Gispy worldmusic as well, showcasing the musical virtuosity and rich repertoire uniquely characteristic for Hungary-based Roma musicians. The varied dance scenes render the large-scale musical tableau even more diverse and colourful.
